Yavapai College offers 99 certificate, degree, and transfer options across 73 programs of study. The college awards seven Associate degree types: Associate of Arts/Science, Associate of Business, Associate of Arts in Elementary Education, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of General Studies, Associate Degree in Nursing, and Associate of Applied Science. The college is home to the Yavapai College Gunsmithing School, historically ranked among the top three gunsmithing schools in the U.S. Alternative learning pathways include credit for prior learning, internships, dual enrollment, online courses, GED testing, and senior programs (OLLI).
The main Prescott campus occupies 100 acres on land formerly part of Fort Whipple (established 1864). On-campus housing is available in two residence halls: Marapai and Kachina. The Rider Diner provides cafeteria-style meals seven days a week, and a self-serve café operates in the library. The Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center seats 1,064 and hosts live performances, movies, and satellite broadcasts. Yavapai College operates 24-hour police services year-round and maintains art galleries and a Southwest Wine Center.
The college competes in NJCAA Division 1 as part of the Arizona Community College Athletics Conference (ACCAC). Currently, Yavapai sponsors four intercollegiate teams: men's soccer and baseball, women's volleyball and softball. The athletic program has won national championships in soccer (7), baseball (4), softball (2), and cross country (2). Men's and women's basketball programs were eliminated in 2011 due to Arizona state budget cuts. The college mascot is 'Ole Ruff, and the Roughriders nickname reflects the athletic identity.
The college operates a library system across multiple campuses with databases, e-books, digital audiobooks, streaming video, and interlibrary loan services. The Prescott Campus Library and Verde Valley Campus Library provide research support and group tours. A Center for Cybersecurity is available to students. The college is part of the U.S. Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). Campus dining, bookstore, tutoring services, and disability resources support student success.
