Wilmington College offers 25 undergraduate majors with 27 minors and 32 concentrations, plus three graduate programs including MS in Occupational Therapy and MS in Agricultural Business and Leadership. The college emphasizes experiential learning through hands-on opportunities in labs, greenhouses, and academic farms. A notable partnership with Drayer Physical Therapy Institute provides clinical experience for Athletic Training, Exercise Science, and Physical Therapy students. The 1,248-acre rural campus features modern facilities including the Center for the Sciences & Agriculture (2016), Center for Sport Sciences (2015), and the Peace Resource Center—the only academic center in the US devoted to the human experience of nuclear war. The Academic Farm spans 267 acres and is ranked first in the Midwest for student hands-on learning facilities. Students live in residence halls including Marble Hall (built by students in 1948), Friends Hall, and Campus Village. The college recognizes 13 Greek Letter Organizations and hosts over 50 student-led organizations. Nearly half the student population participates in varsity athletics.
Wilmington College offers free applications with no essay requirement and automatic scholarship consideration for first-year and transfer students. The college accepts applications through its own undergraduate application or the Common Application. International students (non-U.S. citizens) may apply using either platform. Admissions decisions are accelerated, and the college hosts customized individual visits, Saturday campus visits, and group visits. An Application Blitz event offers early acceptance decisions and merit-based scholarships.
The college is rooted in seven core Quaker values emphasizing peace, justice, and social equity. Ranked #7 in social mobility in the Midwest by U.S. News (2024), Wilmington prepares students for career success through practical skills and real-world experience. The college was the summer training camp location for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1968 to 1996. Notable alumni include actor Gary Sandy, theologian Thomas Raymond Kelly, and poet Stanley Plumly. The college maintains strong athletic traditions with multiple NCAA Division III national champions and conference championships.
