Vancouver College of Massage Therapy is a private massage therapy school in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, training Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs).
Since 2006, Vancouver College of Massage Therapy has focused on training students to become RMTs. Its programs are designed to develop well-rounded RMTs with a solid foundation of science-based knowledge. The college is designated by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills (PTIRU), and the massage therapy program has been approved by the PTIRU registrar.
Class sizes are intentionally limited to 28 students or less, so students receive one-on-one attention and guidance from instructors. The RMT program is offered in both full-time and part-time formats. The program includes a series of cadaver labs at Somatic Explorations with instructor Chris Hagey, RMT. The instructional team includes chiropractors, osteopaths and other skilled therapists and educators. The college reports an 88% pass rate on the CCHPBC Registration Exams over the past two years.
The Vancouver campus is located at #300-1050 West Pender Street in downtown Vancouver, steps from the Burrard Skytrain station and on major bus routes. The campus operates a student clinic with 15 treatment rooms, and the public massage clinic, The Mend, serves the community. A new Surrey campus is now open.
The college is accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation (CMTCA). It maintains designation with the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) program, which it states is evidence that it meets or exceeds the standards set by the province of BC.
Applicants submit a standard application to the RMT Massage Therapy program, available in full-time and part-time formats.
