Vance–Granville Community College offers programs categorized as either continuing education or curriculum-based. Curriculum programs lead to certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees, with students typically completing requirements in several months to two years of full-time study. The college provides 35+ curriculum programs across its four campuses, supported by 36 classrooms, 10 shops, and 20 labs. Programs span technical, vocational, and college-transfer tracks, including biotechnology, cosmetology, EMS/Public Service, and computer training.
The main campus, established in 1976 on an 83-acre tract between Henderson and Oxford, features nine permanent buildings including a student services complex, civic center, daycare unit, auditorium, and learning resources center. The facility is valued at approximately $33 million. Three satellite campuses serve additional counties: South Campus (Granville County), Warren County Campus (downtown Warrenton), and Franklin County Campus (near Louisburg). Combined satellite campus value is approximately $7.3 million. In 2000, the college received $17.1 million in Higher Education Facilities bond funding for campus improvements.
Vance–Granville Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in Region 10. The college's athletic teams are nicknamed the Vanguards, with men's basketball being the first NJCAA sport offered.
