A UW System branch campus in Baraboo that closed in 2026 after serving students since 1968.
The campus offered two associate degrees—an Associate of Arts and Sciences and an Associate of Science in Business Administration—plus a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management. The associate degree fulfilled the first two years of study and was generally accepted at most universities for transfer. The bachelor's degree was offered as a hybrid program with many required classes fulfilled through UW-Platteville's online campus. Average class size was 22.5 students in 2013.
The 68-acre campus featured six buildings including the Aural M. Umhoefer classroom building, the Lange Center (with gymnasium, racquetball courts, fitness center, and cafeteria), a fine arts building, the James and Kathryn Hill Music Center, and the T.N. Savides Library. The campus also included student dormitories, tennis courts, and an 18-hole disc golf course. The Ice Age Trail runs through the property, and several hiking trails are available in the campus woods.
The university was a member of the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference. In its final years, it offered men's basketball and women's volleyball. Previously, the campus fielded teams in cross country, wrestling, golf, and tennis.
Established in 1968 as part of the University of Wisconsin Colleges system, the campus was jointly owned by the UW System, Sauk County, and the City of Baraboo. Originally designed for 300 students, enrollment peaked at 758 in 2000 but declined significantly in later years. The campus merged with UW-Platteville on July 1, 2018, and held its final classes in May 2026.
