UNF is organized into six colleges offering undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest by enrollment (6,572 students), followed by Brooks College of Health (3,130) and Coggin College of Business (3,079). Notable flagship programs include the internationally recognized jazz studies program, transportation and logistics (ranked 13th nationally), coastal biology, and nursing. The 1,300-acre campus is located near I-295 and SR-202 in Jacksonville, featuring 28 major buildings and six housing facilities. Key facilities include the Thomas G. Carpenter Library (199,000 sq ft with 840,000+ volumes), the John A. Delaney Student Union (LEED Gold-certified, opened 2009), and the UNF Arena (6,300 capacity, opened 1993). The campus includes a state-protected wildlife sanctuary with nature trails. UNF has over 200 clubs and organizations, 32 Greek-lettered chapters, and a student government allocated $4.2 million annually. Most students reside off campus.

Early Decision applications submitted by September 2 receive decisions by September 16. For 2021–2022, in-state tuition was $212.98 per credit hour and out-of-state was $693.11 per credit hour. UNF provided over $60 million in scholarships and grants in 2020–2021, meeting 90% of need on average for aid recipients.
