The Health Sciences Campus in Rensselaer (87 acres) hosts the School of Public Health and Cancer Research Center. UAlbany is home to the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center, Cancer Research Center, Center for Functional Genomics, and the RNA Institute. The New York State Writers Institute, founded in 1983 by Pulitzer Prize winner William Kennedy, has hosted over 1,200 writers including eight Nobel Prize winners and nearly 200 Pulitzer Prize recipients.
