Thomas More University operates three colleges: Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Business, and Natural and Health Sciences. Thomas More competes in NCAA Division II within the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), transitioning from NAIA. The Saints field 29 varsity sports with over 700 student-athletes, including football, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and esports (launched 2022–23). The university is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). Student government represents the student body through an executive board and delegates.
Founded in 1921 by the Benedictine Sisters of Covington to educate Catholic teachers and women, the institution became coeducational in 1945 and relocated to Crestview Hills in 1968 with President Lyndon B. Johnson attending dedication ceremonies. The university was granted university status by Kentucky's Council on Postsecondary Education in July 2018 and officially renamed Thomas More University on October 1, 2018. The institution serves students primarily from Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and approximately 20 states.
