Thomas More University is organized into three colleges: the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Business, and College of Natural and Health Sciences. The institution is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and holds membership in the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE). Graduate programs include Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Ethical Leadership, and Master of Arts in Teaching. Accelerated undergraduate programs are also available in business, psychology, nursing (RN to BSN), and other disciplines.
The campus in Crestview Hills features modern facilities including the Connor Convocation Center (athletics), Benedictine Library with theatre and art gallery, Mary Seat of Wisdom Chapel, and a Thomas More University Observatory with computer-controlled telescopes. Residence halls include St. Margaret Stallmeyer Hall, Marian Hall, Howard Hall, Ackerman Hall, and Murphy Hall. The university operates a Biology Field Station on the Ohio River in California, Kentucky, for watershed research. The Thomas More University Success Center provides academic support, career development, and accessibility services.
Thomas More competes in 29 varsity sports with over 700 student-athletes. The university was granted provisional NCAA Division II membership in July 2022 and will compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) beginning in the 2023–24 academic year. Men's sports include football, basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, wrestling, and others; women's sports include basketball, soccer, softball, lacrosse, and volleyball. The university also launched an esports program in 2022–23 through the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE).
Originally founded in 1921 as Villa Madonna College by the Benedictine Sisters of Covington to train Catholic teachers and educate young women, the institution became coeducational in 1945. The college relocated from downtown Covington to Crestview Hills in 1968 and was renamed Thomas More College. In July 2018, Kentucky's Council on Postsecondary Education granted university status, and the institution officially became Thomas More University on October 1, 2018. The university serves approximately 2,000 full- and part-time students, primarily from Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and roughly 20 states.
