History

The institution began in 1995 as International College for Girls (ICG). It became a postgraduate college in 1999, was granted autonomous status by the UGC in 2007, and was conferred deemed-to-be-university status in 2009 under the name IIS University. Dr. Ashok Gupta is the Founder Vice-Chancellor, and he received the National Award for Teachers from the President of India in 1988.
