Sy Syms offers five undergraduate Bachelor of Science degrees: Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, and Strategy & Entrepreneurship. All undergraduates combine business coursework with liberal arts requirements and Jewish studies components. Graduate programs include an MBA (on-campus and online, STEM-designated, 36 credits), Master of Science in Finance (10-course program, full-time or part-time), and Master of Science in Management (online, approximately $19,000 total tuition). Joint degree programs include JD/MBA with Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and Joint Semikha/MBA with Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. The school is AACSB-accredited.
The undergraduate campus is located at 500 West 185th Street in Washington Heights. The main building is Belfer Hall, a 235-foot tall structure built in 1968 and shared with other university schools. Students have access to the Syms Fitness Center in Rubin Hall and surrounding residence halls. Graduate programs operate from the Beren Campus in Murray Hill. Three graduate programs are offered online.
The Ingeborg and Ira Leon Rennert Entrepreneurial Institute (REI) is a cornerstone of the school's mission. REI offers a 12-course, 3-credit-per-course management concentration in entrepreneurship, combining classroom instruction with seminars, workshops, coaching, mentoring, and internships. The program includes the annual Dr. William Schwartz Student Business Plan Competition, YU Fast-Pitch Competition, Entrepreneur-in-Residence program, and partnerships with organizations including the U.S.-India Business Council and Israel & Co.
The school is led by faculty experts across disciplines. Dr. Tamar Avnet serves as Interim Dean and Director of Graduate Programs, specializing in marketing and consumer psychology.
