Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College for Women was founded in 1999 by the Committee of Management S.K.P.D & Charities. The college's vision is to promote quality higher education for women. It is located in the heart of Chennai's commercial district and is described as a beacon of learning in North Chennai. The college was officially recognized as a Linguistic Telugu Minority Institution.
The college offers 12 undergraduate programmes and 3 postgraduate programmes. It is affiliated to the University of Madras. The college reports 1576 students and 115 staff, with 657 rank holders. It has over 200 faculty publications and more than 20 books published.
