Spokane Community College offers associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and certificates across more than 90 areas of study, including allied health, transfer degrees, and career technical programs delivered online and in-person. The college's health sciences division is the largest among community and technical colleges in Washington state. SCC is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and provides adult basic education, GED, ESL, high school completion, career transitions, and continuing education for adults 50 and older through its Institute for Extended Learning.
The main campus spans 148 acres next to the Spokane River in the Chief Garry Park neighborhood, featuring 23 administrative, academic, and support buildings. An additional 10 acres house off-campus facilities including an Apprenticeship and Journeyman Training Center and Felts Field aviation hangar. SCC operates rural education centers in Colville, Inchelium, Ione, Newport, and Republic. The college competes in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) as the Sasquatch, offering sports in basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, softball, golf, track and field, cross country, and tennis.
SCC accepts applications year-round with four start dates annually. The college offers pathways for high school students (Running Start and Career and Technical Education Dual Credit), first-time college students, returning students, and international applicants. Admissions requirements and placement assessments are part of the six-step application process, which includes financial aid, orientation, counseling, and registration.
SCC provides comprehensive career services including job placement assistance, resume and cover letter building, interview preparation, and employer partnerships. The college maintains connections with alumni and community members through career counseling, skill development workshops, and networking opportunities to support students in achieving meaningful careers.
