History
The institution was formed in 1917 by Pitty Theagaraya Chetty Senior and Sir Pitty Theagaraya Chetty Junior, who set apart a portion of their property for educational purpose. The first Board of trustees was formed in 1937 by PT. Chengalvaraya Chetty and Rao Bahadhur, PT. Kumaraswamy Chetty. According to the Principal's Desk, the college was started in 1950.
