About
S.B.S.S. College is a constituent unit of Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga. It was established in the name of Swargiya Bishwanath Singh Sharma to provide quality education to youth irrespective of caste, creed or gender. The college is located in the industrial belt of north Bihar. Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Singh is the principal.
History
The college was originally known as Co-operative College Begusarai. Its foundation was laid on the birth day of Lord Buddha in 1970, and the centre of learning came into being on 21 May 1970. It was established through the co-operation of the people of Begusarai, teachers, students and college teachers of G. D. College Begusarai. The college was named after Late Biswanath Singh Sharma, a leading personality of the co-operative movement in Bihar.
Academics
The college offers various courses, including vocational and self-financing courses. It also offers extracurricular activities such as sports, cultural events, NCC and NSS, along with student counselling. Faculty members act as students' mentors, guiding and counselling them as and when required. Admission to undergraduate semester courses is available through an online admission session.
