Rowan–Cabarrus Community College offers more than 40 areas of study through associate degree programs, accredited diploma and certificate programs, and over 2,000 course offerings. The college provides transfer pathways in Associate in Arts, Associate in Engineering, Associate in Fine Arts in Visual Arts, and Associate in Science, allowing students to earn up to 60 transferable semester hours to UNC System institutions. Academic programs span Arts & Sciences, Health/Education/Cosmetology, Public Service, and Technical Programs, with a faculty-to-student ratio of 15 to one.
The college operates five locations across Rowan and Cabarrus counties: North Campus in Salisbury, South Campus in Concord, Cabarrus Business & Technology Center, North Carolina Research Campus & Dr. Carol Spalding Advanced Technology Center in Kannapolis, and College Station in Kannapolis. Students have access to libraries, tutoring centers, student wellness services, dining facilities (Beacon's Bistro), and student life and leadership opportunities. The college mascot is the Warriors.
Rowan–Cabarrus uses an open-door admissions policy with flexible enrollment options. New students must complete Residency Determination Service (RDS), submit an application through CFNC, and complete the FAFSA for financial aid eligibility. Official high school transcripts are required for applicants under 18 and for specific programs such as Nursing, Dental Assisting, and Radiography. The college offers in-person, online, and hybrid classes with day, evening, and weekend options.
Since its founding in 1963, the college has educated over 650,000 individuals. The R³ Center, established in 2007, assists displaced workers through career development and retraining. The college also founded the Re-employment Bridge Institute (RBI) in 2010 to share best practices with other community colleges. RCCC partners with the North Carolina Research Campus in Kannapolis and provides corporate and continuing education programs throughout the region.
