Pamlico Community College offers a range of curriculum programs including Associate degrees in Arts, Science, and General Education, along with specialized programs in Accounting & Finance, Business Administration, Criminal Justice Technology, Early Childhood Education, Electrical Systems Technology, Environmental Science, Medical Assisting, Social & Human Services, and Welding Technology. The college maintains transfer agreements with Barton College (for students with 2.0 GPA or higher) and East Carolina University, enabling students to complete bachelor's degrees. Continuing education and public safety/emergency management programs are also available.
The college is located at 5049 NC Highway 306 South in Grantsboro, North Carolina. The Ned Everett Delamar Center, opened in March 2008, is a major facility housing four classrooms for Allied Health programs, offices, a large conference room, and a 650-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. The center is available for college functions and community events including banquets, conferences, and cultural productions.
The college provides dedicated academic, career, and personal counseling through its Student Services office. Counselors assist students from registration through graduation. The college complies with federal State Authorization regulations and accepts out-of-state students, though registration may require additional time and information for students from states not included in NC-SARA.
The college began as a branch of Lenoir County Industrial Education Center in 1962, initially serving Pamlico County through continuing education courses. It became Pamlico Technical Institute in 1967, moved to its current Highway 306 campus in 1976, and achieved its current name as Pamlico Community College in 1987. The institution has undergone significant expansion, including a new building completed in 1999 that expanded classroom and office space.
