About
NSCBM Government College is located in the hilly terrain of the district headquarters of Hamirpur, Pin Code 177005, India. The college has been operating since its inception in 1965 and has entered its sixth decade. Its sole motto is the transformation of students into awakened, responsible and accountable citizens.
History
The college started as Govt. College, Hamirpur. In 1995, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was prefixed to its name.
Academics
The college offers undergraduate programmes in Humanities, Science (Medical and Non-Medical, Computer Science) and Commerce, along with postgraduate courses in English, Hindi, Commerce and Economics. It also runs self-financing courses in BBA, BCA and PGDCA. The Department of History was established in 1965 and offers a 3-year undergraduate programme in History.
Campus & Facilities
The campus is spread over nearly 22 acres and includes a standard playground for major outdoor games and a new stadium with a 400-metre synthetic track. Separate hostels for boys and girls each have a capacity of 100 students. The new library is connected through the Library Management Software 'SOUL', developed by INFLIBNET. Listed facilities include a conference hall, separate study rooms, science block laboratories, an indoor sports complex and hostel Wi-Fi, dining hall, solar system and water purification.
Admissions
Admission to the BBA and BCA programmes is through an entrance test, with both subsidized and non-subsidized seats. PGDCA admission is merit based on Bachelor's degree marks.
