Notre Dame College offered 30 majors and individually designed majors across five academic divisions: Arts & Humanities, Business Administration, Education, Nursing, and Science & Mathematics. The college awarded associate degrees, bachelor's degrees, and master's degrees, including a Master of Education program (started 1991) and graduate programs in Business and National Security and Intelligence Studies. In fall 2020, the college had 1,106 undergraduate students.
The 48-acre suburban campus in South Euclid housed multiple residence halls, including Harks Hall (1955) and North and South halls (2009, $15 million construction). The Clara Fritzsche Library (1971) and Keller Center (1987) served academic needs. The college's historic Administration Building, constructed in 1927 in Tudor Revival style, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Student body represented 35 states and 21 countries as of 2022, with the majority from Ohio.
Notre Dame competed in NCAA Division II as a member of the Mountain East Conference, sponsoring 22 intercollegiate teams known as the Falcons (colors: royal blue and gold). The men's wrestling program won the Division II national championship in 2014 led by four-time national champion Joey Davis. The men's rugby team won the 2017 USA Rugby Division IAA national championship and the 2023 NCR Division I national championship. Prior to NCAA membership, the college competed in NAIA and won back-to-back wrestling national championships in 2010 and 2011.
The Sisters of Notre Dame ended their sponsorship in 2023. In February 2024, the college announced closure at the end of spring semester due to significant financial challenges; the college ultimately closed on May 2, 2024. Lake Erie College agreed to become the institution of record, preserving NDC's historical documents. The campus was auctioned on May 7, 2026, with Akron Children's Hospital winning the bid.
