Northeast Christian College is a Bible college in Fredericton, New Brunswick, that trains students for ministry.
Northeast Christian College exists to enlist and educate students for ministry, and to perfect, edify and unite that ministry for revival, world evangelism and discipleship. The college is located at 128 River Street, PO Box 22017, Fredericton, NB E3A 5T6. The Atlantic District and Ontario District of the United Pentecostal Church International partner in a joint-venture agreement to support the college in educating, equipping, and establishing leaders for ministry.
In October 1955, the elders' vision of a place for Bible college training for ministry became a reality. The college's first facility was the Dawson Club, a recreational building constructed in 1925 by cotton mill owner Alexander Boss Gibson. The first class of eleven students opened at the United Pentecostal Bible Institute, founded under the leadership of the late Rev. Earl L. Jacques. The institute closed for one year in 1993, and the college reopened for classes in October 1994 under the name Northeast Christian College. Construction of the new campus building at 128 River Street began with a sod-turning ceremony on June 6, 2007. The original property was along the Nashwaak River in Marysville, New Brunswick, and a men's dormitory was opened at 76 River Street in 1968.
The college offers both theological and practical training for its students. Through its weekend ministry program, students minister in churches across New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Ontario, Quebec, Maine and Vermont through music, testimonies, preaching and children's services. The college states that it is one of the only Bible colleges in North America with a weekend ministry program. Admission routes include a general application for domestic applicants and a separate international student admission process.
The new two-story campus building is shaped like a cross. Its upper level houses the administrative offices, Jacques Memorial Chapel, Post Memorial Library, district offices and the board room. The lower level includes the Music Department, various classrooms, a student lounge and the District Heritage Room.
