Utah's newest for-profit osteopathic medical school, founded 2019, training compassionate physicians with innovative pod-based learning.
Noorda-COM offers the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree and a dual DO/MBA program in partnership with Utah Valley University. The curriculum follows a traditional structure with basic science courses in years one and two, followed by clinical clerkships in years three and four. The school employs an innovative 'pod' learning model where students meet daily in small groups in custom-designed study rooms equipped with whiteboards, widescreen TVs, and collaborative learning materials. Students engage in research projects starting in their first year, with opportunities in literature reviews, methodologies, data analysis, and technical writing.
The college occupies a 21-acre campus in Provo, acquired from a neighboring golf course, with views of the Wasatch mountains and Utah Lake. The main building spans 685,000 square feet and includes a customizable OMM lab, simulation center, natural light study spaces, and task trainers with professional actors and life-sized patient simulators. Campus plans include 685 units of multi-family housing and 234,000 square feet of parking. Located 45 minutes south of Salt Lake City and 30 minutes from Sundance Mountain Resort, students benefit from Utah County's amenities while maintaining proximity to major urban centers.
Noorda-COM uses a rolling admissions process through AACOMAS (the centralized application service for osteopathic schools). Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with cumulative and science GPAs of 3.0 preferred. The preferred MCAT score is 500 with 125 subsection scores (minimum 495). Applicants must complete the AACOMAS primary application, a Noorda-COM secondary application (including professional headshot, video or essay, and $60 fee), provide a letter of recommendation from someone who can attest to academic readiness, and participate in a formal personal interview (virtual or in-person options available).
The Class of 2026 achieved a 98.3% overall residency placement rate, with 94.7% matching on the initial Match Day (March 16, 2026). Primary care specialties accounted for 55% of matches, with Family Medicine (28%), Internal Medicine (17%), and Emergency Medicine (15%) leading. Graduates placed in residencies across 30+ states, with significant concentrations in Texas (13), Florida (12), and Utah (11). The school's early-on clinical experiences—including graded OSCEs, health fairs, volunteer care clinics, and community health screenings—prepare students for successful residency transitions.
