New York Institute of Technology has been leaders and innovators since launching in 1955. It is chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York and is located in Old Westbury, New York. The institution's mission includes providing career-oriented professional education and giving all qualified students access to opportunity.
The college offers 90-plus programs at the bachelor's through Ph.D. level in engineering, technology, design, architecture, the sciences, the humanities, education, medicine, and the health professions. Several programs hold specialized accreditations, including ABET accreditation for computing, engineering, and engineering technology programs, NAAB accreditation for architecture, CCNE accreditation for nursing, COCA accreditation for its College of Osteopathic Medicine, and CIDA accreditation for interior design.
New York Tech has four locations. The New York City campus is at Columbus Circle in the heart of Manhattan, while the Long Island campus is among the rolling hills and historic mansions of Long Island's Gold Coast. Facilities include a student housing community in Jericho, a New York City residence hall, a Nursing Simulation Center, Fabrication Labs, and the Biomedical Research, Innovation, and Imaging Center (BRIIC).
New York Tech is a member of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and a designated Certified Incubator. Three research projects spanning biomedicine, physics, and engineering have received competitive awards from federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense and NASA.
Admission routes include first-year admission through the Common Application and a first-year test-optional option, as well as graduate admission, transfer admission, and automatic admission for Farmingdale State College students.
