NYCHP offers three degree programs in holistic health. The Massage Therapy program is a 72-credit, six-trimester Associate in Occupational Studies (AOS) degree integrating Swedish massage, Asian bodywork, medical massage, and 165 hours of supervised clinical training. The Acupuncture program is a 145-credit, nine-trimester Bachelor of Professional Studies/Master of Science (BPS/MS) degree covering Traditional Chinese Medicine theory, channels, points, and clinical diagnosis. The Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine program extends to 185 credits over ten trimesters, adding Chinese Materia Medica and herbal formulas. All programs are registered by the New York State Education Department and designed to meet licensure and national board certification requirements.
The college operates on a trimester system with three enrollment start dates annually (January, May, August) and accepts applications year-round. Massage Therapy applicants require a high school diploma or equivalency with minimum 2.0 GPA. Acupuncture program applicants must have 60+ undergraduate trimester credits (2.5 GPA or higher) including 9 bioscience credits from a U.S. Secretary of Education–recognized institution. All applicants must submit official transcripts, a personal essay, recent physical examination records, and proof of immunization. The main Muttontown campus features a 70,000 square foot facility with classrooms, teaching clinics, and a herbal dispensary. The college operates additional teaching clinics in Manhattan at the Riverside Church (Upper West Side), University Settlement (SoHo/Chinatown area), and the NY Open Center (Midtown). Student services include a library, tutoring program, student council, and office of student financial services. The college also maintains a facility in Lou Yang, China. Teaching clinics provide supervised patient care in massage therapy, acupuncture, and herbal medicine consultation.
NYCHP is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) and the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM). The institution was initially accredited by the New York State Board of Regents in 2006 for a three-year period. Graduates are eligible to sit for New York State licensing exams in massage therapy and acupuncture, as well as the MBLEx for multi-state massage licensure and NCBAHM national board certification. The college reports an 82.6% student retention rate and conducts over 5,000 patient treatments annually through its teaching clinics.
