History
The New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute (NHDCRI) was set up on the outskirts of Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, and was the first dedicated dental institute in the region. A group of professionals headed by founder Chairman Shri Prakash Davara came together with a shared vision to contribute to dental education and healthcare, which led to the establishment of Barfani Academia. In 2006, the Government of India approved the institute to offer the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program. The college was officially inaugurated by Dr. Raman Singh, then Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, with Dr. Anil Kohli, then President of the Dental Council of India, as Guest of Honour.
Academics
The college offers a 5-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course with 100 seats and a 3-year Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course with 20 seats. Admission to both BDS and MDS courses is through online application on the CGDME website, where NHDCRI is selected as first choice during choice filling. The college also lists hands-on dental laboratories and dental technology among its facilities.
