Church of the Nazarene seminary in Kansas City offering master's and doctoral degrees in ministry and theological studies.
Nazarene Theological Seminary offers graduate-level theological education through master's degrees in Divinity, Transformational Leadership, Black Leadership in Ministry, and Theological Studies, as well as a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree. The seminary also provides non-degree programs. For 2025-2026, enrollment includes 64 MDiv students, 22 MA students, and 62 DMin students, reflecting a decline from 220 total students in 2019-2020.
The seminary occupies an urban campus in Kansas City, Missouri, with administrative and classroom facilities established in 1954 and a library building added in 1966. The institution maintains governance through a board of trustees whose composition is determined by the Church of the Nazarene's International Board of Education, with requirements that a majority affirm the denomination's Articles of Faith and doctrine of entire sanctification.
NTS received over $1 million in 2024 from the Church of the Nazarene's World Evangelism Fund, to which every local Nazarene church contributes 5.5% of annual income. The seminary operates with a budget of $4.8 million and maintains $14.1 million in long-term investments as of 2025-2026. Denominational leadership has expressed a goal for the seminary to become self-sustaining without World Evangelism Fund support by the next General Assembly.
