Academics
NALSAR offers a comprehensive range of programmes including the five-year B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) undergraduate programme, one-year LL.M., two-year LL.M. in Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws (in collaboration with Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs), five-year Integrated Program in Management (I.P.M.), two-year M.B.A., and Ph.D. programmes in Law/Social Sciences/Humanities and Management. The University emphasizes interdisciplinary legal education, integrating law with social sciences, humanities, and management studies. Teaching is accompanied by both theoretical and empirical research, fostering a symbiotic relationship between instruction and scholarly inquiry.
Campus & Infrastructure
NALSAR operates as a fully residential campus located in Justice City, Shamirpet, Hyderabad, Telangana. The campus features the NALSAR Law Library, one of India's largest law libraries with over 65,000 physical volumes, more than 300,000 e-books, and subscriptions to over 100 newspapers, magazines, and journals. A newly built 24/7 reading hall with seating for 60 members provides round-the-clock study facilities. The campus includes academic blocks, student accommodation, and various research centres. Online resources include OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), Knimbus, and Press Reader access.
Admissions
NALSAR conducts admissions through multiple pathways. Undergraduate B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) admissions are conducted via CLAT 2026 with provisions for foreign nationals (SAARC and non-SAARC categories). Postgraduate LL.M. and LL.M. in Insolvency & Bankruptcy Laws admissions include merit-based selection and foreign national categories. Ph.D. admissions for 2026-27 include online registration (June 12 – July 10, 2026), entrance examination (August 2, 2026), with final results to be announced. The University maintains vacancy notifications and wait lists for various programmes.
Vision & Mission
NALSAR's vision is to provide quality legal education that underlines constitutionalism, rule of law, and justice, with particular focus on social justice for marginalized communities. The mission is to impart legal education, conduct research and training, undertake writing and publication, disseminate information, and promote legal literacy. The University is committed to creating an ethical legal culture that protects and promotes the rule of law, supporting crusades for land rights, disability empowerment, prisoner's rights, and LGBTQIA+ causes.
