History
Sri Muthukumaran Educational Trust was formed in 1983 as a Public Charitable and Educational Trust under the guidance of founder trustees Smt. R. Gomathi Radhakrishnan, Thiru. A.N. Radhakrishnan and Tmt. D. Meenakshi Ammal. The hospital registration was completed on 02 Dec 2009. The Trust started the college in the academic year 2010–2011 with an annual intake of 150 students for the MBBS course. In August 2024, Mr. Rakesh Radhakrishnan was appointed as the new chairman.
Academics
The college offers the MBBS, a professional degree of 4½ years of academic duration plus one year Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship, and is approved for 200 MBBS seats. Departments are organized into pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical categories.
