Murray State College offers Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate of Applied Science degrees across four academic schools: Agriculture/Business/Occupational Technology; Arts/Education/Social Sciences; Health Sciences; and Nursing. The college provides 54+ degree program options and 14+ certificate programs, including specialized offerings in gunsmithing, veterinary nursing, and occupational therapy assistance. Online programs are available for 15+ degree options, providing flexibility for distance learners.
The college operates two campuses: the main Tishomingo campus (rural setting) and the Ardmore campus, a 49,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility built in 2018 featuring four science labs, two nursing skills labs, and multimedia classrooms. Students have access to housing, dining, student organizations, and athletics through NJCAA Division I. Admission requires a completed application, official high school transcript or GED verification, and ACT/SAT scores (for students under 21). International students pay a $50 non-refundable admission fee. Medical records documenting vaccinations (Hepatitis B, MMR) are required. The ACCUPLACER placement test is required for students scoring below 19 on the ACT. Concurrent high school enrollment and transfer admission pathways are available.
Murray State is recognized nationally for its LPN-to-RN career mobility program (12-month accelerated hybrid format), paramedic-to-RN pathway, and the only bachelor's degree in gunsmithing in the nation. The college also offers a veterinary nursing program with hands-on training and a speech-language pathology assistant program. These programs reflect the institution's commitment to workforce development and career advancement.
