Mount Sinai Phillips School of Nursing offers nursing as its sole major, with two primary pathways: a fifteen-month Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) for second-degree students and a fifteen-month Bachelor of Science Completion Program (RN-BS) for registered nurses. Both programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The school maintains a student-to-faculty ratio of 8:1 and offers graduate-degree programs and continuing education courses through its Center for Continuing Education.
In 2020, the school relocated to a new 35,000-square-foot facility at 148 East 126th Street in East Harlem, designed by renowned Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. The modern campus includes a multi-purpose auditorium and a state-of-the-art simulation center featuring hospital inpatient, primary care, home care, and operating room settings, positioning students closer to Mount Sinai Hospital and the Icahn School of Medicine.
The school reports a 67% acceptance rate and a 90% graduation rate. With approximately 300 students, the institution serves both second-degree career-changers and registered nurses seeking bachelor's completion.
Established in 1902 as the Beth Israel School of Nursing to train nurses for Beth Israel Hospital, the school became part of the Mount Sinai Health System in 2013 following Beth Israel Medical Center's merger. It was renamed Mount Sinai Phillips School of Nursing in 2022 and inaugurated its new East Harlem location that same year, marking its 120th anniversary.
