Montclair State comprises seven colleges and six schools offering bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees. Major academic units include the College of the Arts (with the John J. Housing includes the Village Apartments at Little Falls (850 students), Sinatra Hall (300 students), and The Heights (2,000 students). The NJ Transit Montclair State University station (opened 2004) provides direct rail access to New York Penn Station. Montclair State admits undergraduate, graduate, transfer, and international students. The university enrolled record-breaking entering classes three consecutive years under President Jonathan Koppell, with the Class of 2028 representing the largest total enrollment in university history. University College admits approximately one-third of incoming freshmen and 1,400 returning/transfer students who have not yet declared a major.
