Miller-Motte College was founded in 1916 in Wilmington, North Carolina, initially as a small training facility for courtroom stenographers. Over the decades, it expanded to establish campuses across the southeastern United States. The institution was acquired by Delta Career Education Corporation in 1998 and subsequently sold to Ancora Education in 2018, its current parent company.
Miller-Motte operates as a system of private for-profit technical colleges offering career-focused programs. The institution offers Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology programs at several campuses, which are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). In 2009, the college launched an online Bachelor of Science degree completion program to expand access to higher education.
Miller-Motte College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges as branch campuses of Platt College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Medical Assisting and Surgical Technology programs at select campuses hold specialized accreditation from CAAHEP. The college was formerly accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), though that agency's accrediting status was terminated by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
Miller-Motte operates physical campuses in seven cities across the southeastern United States: Augusta and Columbus in Georgia; Chattanooga in Tennessee; Fayetteville and Jacksonville in North Carolina; Raleigh in North Carolina; and Tulsa in Oklahoma. The college also maintains an online campus offering degree completion programs.
