MOSMA is a Registered Private Vocational Institution located at 1588 Erin Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Its mission is to nurture talent, stimulate creativity and give students an opportunity to turn their creativity into a sound career. The school describes itself as a place of higher learning that extends beyond formal education.
The school offered its first full-time programme in 1995. Its homepage marks 31 years of sound education.
The full-time Audio in Media Diploma is MOSMA's main full-time programme. Audio engineering training provides real-world experience in recording, mixing, post-production and sound design. Class sizes are kept small so each student receives individual attention. The diploma programme includes 6 Industry Mentors, and practicum partnerships give students real-world experience and professional networks. MOSMA also offers Short Courses and Youth Workshops.
The standard application requires a high school graduate or equivalent, along with a letter of intent. International applicants must provide an English proficiency test.
Since 2019, MOSMA has been an Avid Learning Partner, providing Pro Tools Specialist Certification to full-time Audio in Media diploma students and to individuals seeking certification through its Short Courses. The school is designated by Manitoba Student Aid, so its students are eligible for funding options through Canada Student Loans.
