Miami International University of Art & Design offered career-focused education in applied arts and design disciplines. The institution provided programs in design, media and visual arts, fashion, and culinary arts. It maintained 11 full-time instructors and 93 part-time instructors to serve its student body.
The university operated three campuses: the main campus in Miami, Florida, with branch locations in Tampa, Florida and Dallas, Texas. It was part of the Art Institutes system of schools, a collection of institutions previously owned by Education Management Corporation and later Dream Center Education Holdings.
All Art Institute schools, including Miami International University of Art & Design, ceased operations on September 30, 2023. The institution was accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) at the time of closure.
