MGM Medical College is located at Dimna Road, Jharkhand 831020, India. It is the first Government Medical College of Jamshedpur. The college's motto is "Medical Education for Life, through Life and throughout Life".
History
The college came into existence on 14th November 1961 to fulfill the aspirations of Bihar and Jharkhand. It was undertaken by the Government of Bihar in 1979. The college has been affiliated with Kolhan University, Chaibasa since 2010.
Mission and Academics
The college is based on the Vedic philosophy of "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah – Sarve Santu Niramayaha" and imbibes the Gandhian philosophy of making quality health care accessible to the needy people of Jharkhand and its neighboring States. Its mission is to perform scientific research and provide quality health services to the sick and the needy. The college aims to produce competent and knowledgeable medical doctors and Para-medicals, and has imparted P.G. and U.G. Medical Education for a long time. Admission routes include MBBS and Postgraduate (MD, MS & Diploma).
