The seminary is located at 5416 S. Cornell Ave., 5th Floor, Chicago, IL 60615, in the Hyde Park neighborhood. As of 2023, McCormick shares facilities with the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and Catholic Theological Union following a 1975 relocation from Lincoln Park. A 2022 letter of intent allows the University of Chicago to purchase the shared campus, with the seminaries leasing back facilities.
Rev. Dr. Maisha I. Handy became McCormick's 12th president in September 2024, making her the seminary's first African American president and second female leader. The institution was renamed in 1886 to honor industrialist Cyrus McCormick, a board member. McCormick is one of 10 schools related to the Presbyterian Church (USA) and is affiliated with the Association of Chicago Theological Schools (ACTS).
