Lone Star College System provides high-quality, low-cost academic transfer and career training education. The system offers over 200 programs ranging from associate degrees and certificates to four-year bachelor's degrees in fields such as Cybersecurity, Nursing (RN to BSN), and Energy, Manufacturing & Trades Management. The system is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Program-specific accreditations include nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy technician training, surgical technology, veterinary technology, and construction trades.
The system operates eight main colleges: LSC-CyFair, LSC-Houston North, LSC-Kingwood, LSC-Montgomery, LSC-North Harris, LSC-Online, LSC-Tomball, and LSC-University Park. Additionally, the system maintains 14 centers and specialized facilities including the Energy and Manufacturing Institute, Health Professions Building, Construction and Skilled Trades Technology Center, and Transportation & Global Logistics Technology Center. The system headquarters are located in The Woodlands, Montgomery County.
LSCS provides comprehensive student support services including advising, tutoring, financial aid, degree planning, veteran services, transfer services, and dining services. The system offers a STAR Bundle for student resources and maintains a Student Career Portal. As of 2025, a student-led Discord community has grown to over 1,200 members providing peer-to-peer academic support. The system awarded 11,000+ degrees and certificates in 2024 and enrolled 4,652 veteran students in Fall 2025.
Lone Star College System maintains an open admissions policy as a community college system. The average in-district tuition is $1,332 per semester. The system offers placement testing and degree planning services to support student success.
