Lakshmibai College is a constituent college of the University of Delhi that provides higher education to women only. The college is run by the Government of Delhi and is located at Ashok Vihar III, Ashok Vihar, Delhi - 110052. It is well-connected through several metro stations and bus routes. Its vision is "Satyam Gyanam Anantam", meaning true knowledge is endless and can be gained perpetually.
History
The college was established in 1965. It is named in honour of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, the fearless warrior and patriot.
Academics
The college has multiple departments, including Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Home Science, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Physical Education, Political Science, Psychology, Punjabi, Sanskrit, and Sociology. Masters in Arts are offered with specializations in Philosophy, Political Science and Sanskrit. A mission of the college is to inculcate the spirit of integrity, self-awareness and self-reliance among youth. Undergraduate admission is through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) and the CUET(UG) entrance test. The college holds an MDRA 2026 overall rank of 38 in Arts.
