Kendall College offers specialized programs in culinary arts, baking, pastry, and hospitality management. The School of Culinary Arts was established in 1985, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1987, later revised to Hospitality Management in 2005. The college maintains partnerships with Les Roches International School of Hotel Management and Glion Institute of Higher Education, offering exchange programs with campuses in Switzerland and Spain. Associate programs in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry are accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation.
Originally founded in 1934 as Evanston Collegiate Institute by two Methodist seminarians, the school was renamed Kendall College in 1950 to honor Curtis P. Kendall and his family, major financial supporters. The college relocated from Evanston to Chicago's Goose Island in 2005, occupying the former Sara Lee Research and Development building. After acquisition by Laureate Education in 2008, Kendall College was transferred to National Louis University in 2018, where it now operates as a specialized college within the larger university.
Kendall College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and holds membership in the International Association of Methodist-related Schools, Colleges, and Universities. Its culinary and baking programs are accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission, ensuring quality standards in professional culinary education.
