Kamaraj College is an autonomous and NAAC accredited institution located on a 50-acre campus within the city of Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. The college is committed to nurturing young men and women into responsible global citizens.

History

The Tuticorin Education Society began in 1966 and was established under the leadership of Thiru A M M S Ganesan Nadar. The society laid its foundation with the support of the Karapettai Hindu Nadar Sangam. The Department of History was established in 1976 with the B.A. History programme.

Academics and Research

The college emphasizes research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. From three research centres in 2016, it now has nine departments actively involved in research. The number of research scholars has grown to well over 100. Campus life begins with a Student Induction Program that spans three weeks.

Campus & Facilities

The campus includes a Central Library, lecture halls, laboratories, seminar halls, a Marine Research Centre, a Business Incubation Centre, a Research Centre, a Society Conference Hall, boys and girls hostels, a canteen, a hostel mess, a full-size football ground and a basketball court.

Admissions

Undergraduate admission is based on merit-based counselling after +2 results. Postgraduate admission is based on merit-based counselling after final-year results.
