Jefferson offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates across multiple career pathways including Arts & Humanities, Business & IT, Education & Human Services, Public Safety, Healthcare, Manufacturing & Trades, and STEM. The college provides transfer programs for students pursuing bachelor's degrees, as well as pre-baccalaureate education and developmental coursework. Educational Enrichment Services (EES) offers free remedial instruction in math, writing, and reading for students needing foundational skill review before entering regular college courses.
JCTC operates six campuses: three in the Louisville Metro area (Downtown, Jefferson Technical, and Southwest in Valley Station) and three in outlying counties (Carrollton, Shelbyville, and Shepherdsville). The Downtown Campus at Second and Broadway is the largest, enrolling over 7,200 students annually. In 2010, the college completed a $25.6 million Health Sciences Building, a four-story, 100,000-square-foot facility featuring laboratory space, a small clinic, library, conference center, and faculty offices.
The college welcomes new students through campus tours offered several times monthly at each location, lasting approximately one hour and including admissions presentations and walking tours. Virtual tours are available for prospective students. The student body represents 40 different languages on campus, reflecting a diverse community. JCTC emphasizes accessible and affordable education with the lowest tuition in Kentucky.
Jefferson serves a primary service area encompassing eleven Kentucky counties: Bullitt, Carroll, Gallatin, Henry, Jefferson, Nelson, Oldham, Owen, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble. The college is affiliated with Kentuckiana Metroversity and maintains strong connections with local employers and community organizations through customized workforce training and development programs.
