Isothermal Community College offers several academic programs including dual enrollment opportunities for high school students. The college hosts Huskins courses that allow students from three local high schools to take college-level courses while still in high school. Additionally, ICC is home to the Rutherford Early College High (REaCH), an alternative high school program that combines college education with high school coursework.
The college is located in Spindale in the foothills of Western North Carolina, an area known as the thermal belt for its significantly milder temperatures compared to neighboring regions. ICC hosts the Foundation of the Performing Arts Center, a community center that presents plays, concerts, and performances by featured artists and groups. The college is also home to WNCW, a public broadcast station. The student athletic program is known as the Patriots.
Margaret Annunziata has served as president since February 1, 2021. She succeeded Walter H. Dalton, who previously served as lieutenant governor of North Carolina.
