International Business University is a student-focused business university in Toronto, Canada, founded in 2015 and offering business and AI programs.
International Business University started with the vision of establishing an independent, teaching-oriented and student-centred university in Canada. In 2015, a founding group of academics and businesspeople came together to make this vision a reality. Ontario's Minister of Colleges and Universities granted final consent on December 4, 2020, making IBU the first homegrown independent university ever established in the province. The founding group then launched the university in time for its September 2021 start.
IBU's mission is educating the next generation of graduates who anticipate and drive change and make a difference at work and in their communities. The university describes itself as a student-focused business university offering programs that are career-relevant, accelerated, and integrated with work-connected projects. IBU reports that small class sizes and one-on-one mentoring provide a focused, personalized learning experience.
IBU offers undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) programs and graduate MBA and Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence programs. The university is a Designated Learning Institution authorized by the Canadian government to host both domestic and international students. IBU has undergone an independent review by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and holds QAA International Quality Accreditation. It has also become a Signatory Member to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME).
The downtown Toronto campus is located at 655 Bay St., Suite 200, Toronto M5G 2K4, Canada, in the city's Financial District. IBU also has an Ottawa graduate campus at 979 Bank Street. Facilities listed by the university include Student Services and Academic Support and alumni networking functions.
