The MSME Indo Danish Tool Room is a public institution and an autonomous body under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India. It is registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 21 of 1860. The institute is located at M-4 (Part), Phase VI, Tata-Kandra Road, P.O. Gamharia, Jamshedpur 832108.
History
The institute was established in 1991 under a bilateral agreement between the Governments of India and Denmark. Its extension centers were set up in Varanasi in 2014 and in Patna in 2015. The Varanasi center, known as MSME Samsung Technical School, is a joint venture with Samsung.
Academics
The institute conducts AICTE approved diploma courses in Tool & Die Making, Production Engineering and Mechatronics. It also conducts NCVT approved ITI courses in Fitter, Machinist, Turner, Tool & Die Maker, Welder, and Computer Hardware and Network Maintenance. Diploma admission is through a written entrance examination with merit-based selection. Its stated vision is to be an internationally acclaimed Centre of Excellence in Design, Development & Training in Advanced Tooling Solutions.
Campus & Facilities
The Jamshedpur center has a Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel, Residential Colony, Library, Canteen and Auditorium. Facilities include training machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines, training labs, CNC machining centres, production equipment and heat treatment facilities. Plant and machinery investment is Rs 60 Cr., with a manpower of 65.
