IIIT Sri City, known as IIITS, was established in 2013 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament. It is one of 20 institutes across India focusing on information technology education, research and development. The institute was set up by the Government of India along with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and industry partners represented by Sri City Foundation as a public-private-partnership institution. It is governed by a Board of Governors made up of eminent personalities from the Government, Industry and Academia.
Academics
IIIT Sri City offers B.Tech, M.Tech, M.S. and Ph.D. programmes in Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communications Engineering. IIIT Sri City is located as an integral part of Sri City, a large integrated business city on the Chennai-Nellore Highway, about 60 km from Chennai. Sri City is spread over 8000 acres and includes a multi-product Special Economic Zone. The nearest airports, Chennai and Tirupati, are each about 70 km away. Campus facilities include student hostels, a dining facility and mess, an institute bus service, and a library with e-resources. The institute also operates an office in Chennai to link with the Chennai industrial and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Admissions
Undergraduate admission to B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science is through JoSAA/CSAB counselling. International students can apply through DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad).
