Himachal Pradesh University

Himachal Pradesh University is a public institution in Shimla, established in 1970. Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is a public state university established on 22 July 1970 under The Himachal Pradesh University Act, 1970, located at Summer Hill, Shimla. It is the only multi-faculty residential and affiliating university in Himachal Pradesh, offering 132 academic programmes through 52 departments and 5 centres across 13 faculties. The university has been awarded Grade 'A' by NAAC and serves higher education needs in urban, rural, and tribal areas through formal and distance modes.
