Howard Payne offers more than 100 majors, minors, and pre-professional programs organized across six schools. The university emphasizes Christ-centered learning and intellectual inquiry. Undergraduate applicants must meet 2 of 3 criteria: GPA 2.6+, class rank 50%+, or test scores (ACT 19+, SAT 990+, CLT 64+). The application is free and requires high school/college transcripts and optional standardized test scores. Transfer and graduate admissions pathways are available. The university also offers dual credit and honors academy admission options.
HPU competes in NCAA Division III as the Yellow Jackets, member of the American Southwest Conference. Sports include football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, and tennis. The women's basketball team won the 2008 NCAA Division III National Championship with a perfect 33-0 season.
