Hansraj Jivandas College of Education (HJCE) is located at Dr. Madhuri Shah Campus, Ramkrishna Mission Marg, Khar (W), Mumbai 400 052. The college is 100% aided by the State Government. Its vision includes the aim to empower and sow the seeds of knowledge, and its mission includes fostering a research attitude.
History
The college was established in 1969 by Gujarat Research Society under the leadership of Padmashri Dr. Madhuri Shah, a nationally and internationally acclaimed educationist who founded the college. Smt. Kallolini Hazarat, former President of the Gujarat Research Society, played a pivotal role in strengthening HJCE. The college has been permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai since 1983.
Academics
HJCE offers a two-year B.Ed. Degree Programme and a one-year Diploma Programme in Early Childhood Care and Education. Of the total admissions, 50% seats are reserved for the Gujarati Linguistic Minority Quota and the remaining 50% for the Public Quota. B.Ed admission is through CAP (State Common Entrance Test Cell) and an institutional round merit list. The Research and Development Cell has 7 Ph.D. Guides in Education and Interdisciplinary Studies, with permanent recognition from University of Mumbai and an intake capacity of 45.

The campus has been developed aesthetically and functionally with well-utilized space.
