Haldia Institute of Technology is a private institution in Midnapore, established in 1996. Haldia Institute of Technology (HIT), established in 1996, is the first and largest self-financed engineering institute in West Bengal, maintained by ICARE (Indian Center for Advancement of Research and Education). It is an autonomous institution affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) and approved by AICTE, offering 13 B.Tech, 5 M.Tech, MCA, and MBA programmes.
