Academics
The college offers three-year diploma courses approved by the State Government and AICTE: Mechatronics Engineering, Information Technology, and Computer Engineering. Admissions are available at the post-secondary level (after X Standard) and through lateral entry at the post-higher secondary level (after XII Standard). The curriculum and evaluation systems follow guidelines prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. Each course has an intake of 60 students per shift, with two shifts operating daily.
Campus & Infrastructure
The college is located in Purasawalkam, Chennai, on a 5-acre campus with 5,600 sq.m. of built-up area. Facilities include specialized laboratories for Computer Engineering (installation, multimedia, programming, microprocessor), Information Technology (programming labs), and Mechatronics (CAD/CAM, EDC, electrical labs), plus first-year physics, chemistry, and workshop facilities. The air-conditioned library houses approximately 4,300 titles and 6,400 volumes, with an e-learning section featuring NPTEL courses and NITTTR resources. Additional facilities include physical education, NSS unit (100 volunteers), and the Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project (CIICP) for holistic student development.
Admissions
Candidates who pass X Standard with Mathematics and Science are eligible for first-year admission. Lateral entry to the second year (III Semester) is available for XII Standard pass candidates with specified subject requirements. Special reservations are provided for ex-servicemen's children, physically handicapped candidates, freedom fighters' descendants, and sports quota participants. Applications are typically invited following board examination results, with deadlines in June for first-year and May/June for lateral entry. Only Tamil Nadu residents are eligible for general admission in government institutions.
Campus Life & Support
The college operates under the Canada India Institutional Co-operation Project, which emphasizes staff development, continuing education, student services, women's development, and environmental awareness. The NSS unit engages 100 volunteers in community service including skill development training, health awareness campaigns, and self-improvement programs. The college is co-educational and provides various support services including scholarships and placement assistance.
