Glendale Community College offers 111 degree and certificate programs, including associate degrees, certificate programs, industry-specific training, and university transfer pathways. The college provides general education requirements and specialized training across multiple disciplines. GCC is accredited through The Higher Learning Commission / North Central Association for both its main campus and North campus locations.
The main campus spans 147 acres at 59th Avenue and Olive Avenue in Glendale, with a dedication ceremony held in October 1966. Key facilities include the Performing Arts Center (opened 1977), High Tech Center (1987), Life Science Building (2008), and Public Safety Sciences building (2010). The North Campus opened in fall 2008 at 57th Avenue and Happy Valley Road in Phoenix, serving northern Maricopa County. GCC also offers classes at Northern Arizona University's North Valley campus and select high schools in the region.
GCC competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Arizona Community College Athletic Conference. The college has produced seven NJCAA national championship teams: cross country (1967), baseball (1968), football (1988, 2000, 2005), women's softball (1994), women's basketball (1996), and volleyball (2014). The college mascot is the Glendale Gaucho.
GCC alumni include Ted Sarandos (Netflix co-CEO), Jan Brewer (Arizona Governor 2009–2015), Alice Cooper (musician), and professional athletes in football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, and mixed martial arts. The college has also produced notable figures in media, entertainment, and business leadership.
